The game

Counting Sheep is free to play in your browser, for your own enjoyment. The first field is practice. Rewards start at field 2, and they grow with each field you finish. The offer shown in the game on the day you play is the one that applies.

Please play it yourself. Programs, scripts, AI agents, emulators and edited game files are not allowed, and neither is looking for a way around the rules of a field.

What we keep, and why

When you join the ranking or ask for a code, we use your email to keep your place in the ranking, to send your code and to honor it on your first order, and to prevent fraud.

To prevent fraud and abuse, we also keep your IP address, the network it belongs to, your approximate country, your device type, your browser type and your language. We use them to tell a person from a program, and to stop one person from asking for many codes. We never sell any of it. How long we keep each item, and how to ask us to delete it, is written on our Privacy page.

We record your email when you ask for a code or join the ranking, even if you never open the confirmation link, and whether or not you tick the newsletter box. The newsletter is separate and optional. We send news only if you tick the box and then open the confirmation link, or switch it on yourself on your account page while you are signed in.

Your account

You sign in with your email. You are responsible for your mailbox and for any browser you keep signed in, so sign out on a shared device. One person has one account and one code: addresses that differ only by dots or a plus tag count as the same person. We may close an account that breaks the rules under Fair play. You can delete your account at any time from your account page.

Rewards and codes

Each code is tied to one email address. It is one per person, and it cannot be used twice, sold or passed on. It is for your first order, and rewards are valid when the shop opens. If you finish a higher field, your code is replaced by the better one.

The last field is the hardest, and the top reward is not easy to get: a field can ask for a minimum result, such as a number of stars, before it gives its reward. The reward of the last field also includes a surprise gift, which comes with your first purchase. We do not say what it is.

The rankings

The ranking adds up your best score on each field. It shows only the name you choose and your score, never your email, and it starts again every month. A ranking name has 2 to 16 characters. We refuse names that look like an email address, a link or a phone number, and we may remove a name that is rude or misleading.

The top 10 of the month win a larger discount and the surprise gift. Before we send a prize code, we check the entry by hand.

There is also an all time ranking that never resets. It adds up your best score on each field and shows only your ranking name. It has no prize.

Fair play

To keep the game fair, the game sends us the moves you made in a field, and we replay them on our server to check the score. A run that looks automated, or that was changed, may be left out of the ranking and the rewards, and a code may be canceled. If you think we got it wrong, write to us and we will look again.
